API 607&API 6FA valve fire resistance test

API607 is a fire resistance test for soft seated valves. It includes two indicators: internal and external leakage of the valve. During the test, the valve is in a closed state and surrounded by an external fire for 30 minutes. If the leakage at the valve seat meets the standard requirements, the internal leakage test is qualified. In case of a fire in the factory, the combustible medium will not leak into the downstream pipeline due to valve failure after the valve is closed. The testing at the valve stem and valve cover mainly refers to external leakage testing. It mainly refers to the fact that during combustion, a large amount of combustible medium will not leak out of the pipeline, thereby fueling the fire.
API 607 and API 6FA are fire resistance tests for valves 6D and 6A. Generally, API 6D valves (ball valves, plug valves) that can only rotate 90 ° require API 607, while others require API 6FA.
In the fire resistance experiment of valves, the diameter and pressure values are small specifications that cover large specifications, such as:
-Test the valve diameter NPS2, and cover the valve specifications NPS2, 2-1/2, 3, and 4 after testing It can be simply considered as twice the size.
The pressure level of the test valve is 150LB, and the pressure levels covered after the test are 150LB and 300LB It can be simply considered as twice the size.
